Google Sign-In and Google OAuth Data

Data accessed: When a user signs in with Google, Blixxy may receive the user's name, email address, Google account identifier, and profile image when provided by Google. Blixxy does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google services.

How Google data is used: This information is used only to authenticate the user, create and maintain their Blixxy account, identify the user within Blixxy, provide requested Blixxy functionality, prevent fraud, and maintain account security.

How Google data is stored and protected: Google account information retained by Blixxy is protected using reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational security measures designed to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Sharing and disclosure: Blixxy does not sell Google user data. Google user data is not shared for advertising or marketing purposes. Information may only be disclosed to service providers when necessary to operate, authenticate, secure, or support Blixxy, or when required by applicable law.

Data retention: Blixxy retains Google-associated account information only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain the user's Blixxy account, provide the service, satisfy legitimate operational or legal requirements, and resolve disputes.

Deletion: Users may request deletion of their Blixxy account and associated personal information by contacting Blixxy support. Upon a valid deletion request, personal information will be deleted or anonymized except where retention is required by law or legitimate legal obligations.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Blixxy Home Services ("Blixxy," "we," or "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when homeowners and property owners ("Homeowners") and local service providers ("Providers") use the Blixxy platform. By creating an account or using Blixxy, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information we collect

Blixxy may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Full name — used to identify you and personalize your account.
  • Email address — used for authentication, account recovery, and notifications.
  • Phone number — a mobile number is required for all accounts and is used for verification, account security, and service/job notifications.
  • Service/home address — used to match you with nearby professionals and to perform the requested service.
  • Profile information — such as account type (Homeowner or Provider), display name, business details (for Providers), and account-status information.
  • Profile photo — used to identify you on the platform and on your profile.
  • Job information — including job descriptions, uploaded photos, property-related information, requested services, budget, parking details, entry notes, and appointment instructions.
  • Location information — used when needed to connect you with nearby jobs and services, and to display nearby jobs and provider location status during an active job.
  • Account and authentication information — including credentials, sign-in method, and account activity used to maintain account security.
  • Payment-related information — processed through payment providers such as Stripe; Blixxy does not store full card numbers directly.
  • Communications with Blixxy support — including support messages, in-app job messages, emails, and SMS (when you opt in).

3. Account and authentication information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, profile information, profile photo, and account type (Homeowner or Provider). A mobile phone number is required for all accounts. We may also store a display name and account-status information (for example, whether an account is active, suspended, or revoked), along with authentication details such as your sign-in method and account activity used to maintain account security.

4. Location information

We use location information to connect Homeowners with nearby Providers and to display nearby jobs. Homeowners provide a service address (street, city, state, and ZIP code) when posting a job. Providers see only an approximate neighborhood or area until a job is confirmed; the exact address and access instructions are shared with the assigned Provider based on the access timing you choose. During an active job, an assigned Provider may share live location status (such as "on the way" or "arrived") with the Homeowner. We also derive approximate location (such as city, region, and country) from device and network signals for analytics and matching; precise GPS coordinates are not stored in our analytics records.

5. Job information

When a Homeowner posts a job, we collect the job description, uploaded photos, property-related information, requested services, and the proposed budget. We may also collect parking details, entry notes, and appointment instructions so the Provider can perform the work. To help produce a price estimate, our system analyzes the job description and any photos you submit. Job records are retained after completion for dispute resolution, support, and legal compliance.

6. Provider profile information

Providers create a profile that may include business name, business phone, business website, business address, a bio, profession, years of experience, skills, service area, and service radius. Licensing information, insurance status, certifications, and a profile photo may be provided voluntarily. When a Provider chooses to upload them, we also store a government ID document and an insurance document. Background checks are performed through Checkr; we store only the resulting background-check status on the Provider's profile, not the underlying criminal records.

7. Payment-related information

Payments between Homeowners and Providers may be processed through third-party payment processors such as Stripe. When you authorize a payment, Blixxy holds the authorized funds in escrow and releases them to the Provider only after the work is approved. We do not store complete payment card numbers directly on Blixxy; card data is handled by the payment processor. We may store a reference to your payment method (such as a Stripe Customer identifier) and the last four digits of a card for display.

8. Payouts to service providers

Providers receive payouts through their own Stripe Connect account. Blixxy initiates transfers to the Provider's connected account after a job is completed and approved. A Provider may choose to receive an instant payout to a debit card, in which case an instant-payout fee applies. We store payout status, transfer identifiers, and related amounts for accounting and reconciliation.

9. Communications

We collect and store communications between users and Blixxy, and between a Homeowner and the assigned Provider on a job. This includes support messages, in-app job messages, notifications, emails, SMS messages (when you opt in), and other service-related communications. SMS opt-in information is used only to provide Blixxy communications and services and is not shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP.

10. Device, browser, diagnostic, and usage information

We collect technical information such as device type, browser, operating system, approximate region, pages viewed, and usage activity to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the platform. This includes analytics events, session and visitor identifiers stored in your browser, and referrer or marketing-attribution information. We use this information to detect fraud, measure performance, and improve Blixxy.

11. Google Sign-In / Google OAuth

When you choose Sign in with Google, Blixxy may receive basic Google account information authorized by you, including:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Google account identifier
  • Profile image, if provided by Google

This information is used only to create or authenticate your Blixxy account, identify you, maintain account security, and provide the Blixxy service.

Blixxy does not use Google account information for advertising, does not sell Google user data, and does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendars, or other Google services unless explicitly added and disclosed in this policy in the future.

12. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage accounts
  • Connect homeowners with local service professionals
  • Process and manage service requests
  • Send account, job, security, and service notifications
  • Provide customer support
  • Prevent fraud and abuse
  • Improve Blixxy
  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations

13. How we share information

Blixxy does not sell personal information. We share personal information only when necessary, and only with:

  • Other Blixxy users involved in a service request (for example, the exact address and access instructions shared with the assigned Provider after a job is confirmed)
  • Payment processors, such as Stripe
  • Authentication providers, such as Google (when you choose Sign in with Google)
  • SMS, email, and notification providers used to deliver Blixxy communications
  • Hosting and technology service providers that help us operate the platform
  • Law enforcement or regulators when legally required

14. Third-party services

Blixxy may use third-party providers to operate the platform, including Google authentication, payment processors (such as Stripe), SMS/email and notification providers, maps and location services, hosting, and analytics. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies and as necessary to provide their services to Blixxy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services. Blixxy does not sell your personal information to these providers; information is shared only as necessary to provide the Blixxy service.

15. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including limiting access to data on a need-to-know basis, securing data in transit, and restricting sensitive operations to server-side, admin-authorized processes. Payment card data is handled by our payment processor and is not stored in full on Blixxy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take appropriate measures to help protect your personal information.

16. Data retention

We keep your information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Job records, messages, payment and payout records, and audit logs are retained after completion for dispute resolution, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal compliance. Analytics data is retained for a limited period to measure and improve the platform. When you close your account, we deactivate it and retain certain records only as required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes.

17. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, and request deletion of your personal information. You can manage or update your profile from your account settings, and you can request account deletion, which removes your access and associated personal data subject to the retention needs described above.

18. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. To do so, use the account deletion option in your profile settings, or contact us at support@blixxyhomeservices.com.

Verified deletion requests will be processed subject to legal, fraud-prevention, payment, and record-retention requirements. Certain records may be retained where required by law or for accounting, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes.

19. Children's privacy

Blixxy is not intended for children under 18 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

20. U.S. and state privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Because Blixxy does not sell personal information for money, no sale opt-out applies. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

21. SMS privacy

No mobile opt-in data will be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent and mobile opt-in information are used only as necessary to provide Blixxy communications and services, subject to the rest of this Privacy Policy. You can opt out of SMS by replying STOP at any time.

22. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" and "Last Updated" date near the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or by email. Your continued use of Blixxy after a change means you accept the updated policy.
